Statement on personal artistic style
The starting point of my works is usually a formal creative concept (e.g., closed shapes), a topical idea (e.g., wall piercing) or some consistent basic idea (e.g., a human torso). When searching for an appropriate outer shape for my objects I first consider the specifics of the material I intend to use. The working process itself is one of reduction and abstraction on many different levels, down to the shape of individual lines or specific tension-building elements of the sculpture or installation I'm working on.
